Farley's Bookshop

Fodor's Choice

The shelves of employee-owned Farley's, a New Hope institution since 1967 and nicely renovated in 2023, hold ample choices, including books about the region. Staff picks, signed copies of local writers' works, children's books (in a special area), small press favorites, and cards and book-related merch: it's all here for the browsing, with staff happy to offer suggestions.

The Farm Shop at Los Poblanos

Los Ranchos de Albuquerque Fodor's Choice

A destination on its own, the wonderful Farm Shop at the renowned Los Poblanos Inn carries a distinctive selection of books, culinary gadgets, fine crafts from local makers (jewelry, textiles, ceramics), the same soothing and perfectly scented lavender lotions and soaps found in the inn's guestrooms, and a considerable variety of artisan jams, vinegars, and sauces. Farmers Market Ogden

Fodor's Choice

Find an eye-opening selection of fresh local produce, gourmet goods, live music, and local art at one of Utah's largest and most popular farmers' markets. The main summer market runs late June through mid-September from 9 am to 2 pm along Historic 25th Street. There's also a shorter fall market from late September through late October, and a winter version of the market from mid-January to late February.

Farmhouse Pottery

Fodor's Choice

More and more of James Zilian's "studio pottery" is showing up in luxury establishments around the country, even earning the Oprah seal of approval. A visit to the home shop just west of Woodstock shows why, with a rustic but elegant range of stoneware pitchers, enamel jars, linen oven mitts, and beehive salt cellars. Visitors can watch the potters in action through large windows into the production room.

Fashion Island

Fodor's Choice

The outdoor Fashion Island mall is designed with archways, courtyards, koi pond, fountains, and a mix of high-end shopping and chain stores. Multiple dining venues include Fleming's Steak House, True Food Kitchen, and Sushi Roku. Well-known department store anchors include Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale's; smaller shops include See's Candies and boutiques like Brandy Melville. The newest addition is the four floor RH Newport Beach design gallery filled with sparkling chandeliers, indoor and outdoor furniture, heritage olive trees, and trickling fountains. At the rooftop is RH Ocean Grill offering sweeping views of the California coastline. Enjoy a glass of wine or Champagne from the wine bar while enjoying brunch, lunch, or dinner.

Fashion Show Las Vegas

North Strip Fodor's Choice

The frontage of this fashion-devoted mall is dominated by The Cloud—a giant, oblong disc that looms high above the entrance. Ads and footage of the mall's own fashion events are periodically projected across the expanse of this ovoid screen. Inside, the mall is sleek, spacious, and airy—a nice change from some of the claustrophobic casino malls. The mall delivers on its name: fashion shows are staged in the Great Hall on an 80-foot-long catwalk that rises from the floor (on select weekends). Although you can find many of the same stores in the casino malls, there's a smattering of different fare, such as Drybar, which specializes in blowouts; Calzedonia Italian Legwear; the LEGO store; and shops specializing in tailoring and purse and hat cleaning. Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Macy's, Dillard's, and Forever 21 serve as the mall's anchors. Along with an airy food court, dependable chains, including The Capital Grille, Maggiano's, Benihana, and California Pizza Kitchen, offer sit-down dining. There's even a Hello Kitty Café. Or stop at the Capital One Cafe; maybe you'll see Jennifer Garner!

Ferdinand's

Fodor's Choice

On weekdays or any Saturday when there's a football home game, you can pop into Ferdinand's, an ice-cream and cheese shop in Washington State University's food-science building, to buy aged Cougar Gold, a cheddar-type cheese in a can. Fishs Eddy

Flatiron District Fodor's Choice

The dishes, china, and glassware for resale come from all walks of crockery life, including corporate dining rooms and failed restaurants, so you never know what you might find. Fishs Eddy also sells its own lines of dishes and kitchenware, which have both classic and whimsical looks. The shop is a great place to pick up New York–theme gifts such as mugs and trays.

Fleurty Girl

French Quarter Fodor's Choice

Owned by the ebullient Lauren Thom, Fleurty Girl—its name is a play on "fleur-de-lis"—is the place to go for New Orleans apparel, home decor, and gifts. The store is known for its T-shirts displaying the humorous catchphrases and iconography of local culture and New Orleans Saints pride. There's affordable jewelry, children's books, colorful rain boots, Carnival-theme gear, and fleurs-de-lis in every imaginable form. There's also a location in the Garden District, at  3117 Magazine Street.

The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace

Center Strip Fodor's Choice

Amazing ambience, architecture, and design means visitors won't have to drop a single dime to enjoy touring this highly accessible mid-Strip mall. Leave the high heels at home to better roam the three levels of restaurants and retail—some paths are cobblestoned—that resemble an ancient Roman streetscape, with scattered statuary, immense columns and arches, two central piazzas with ornate fountains, and a cloud-filled ceiling-sky that changes from sunrise to sunset over the course of three hours (to subconsciously spur shoppers to step up their pace of acquisition, perhaps?).  The Mitsubishi-designed freestanding Spiral Escalator is a must-ride for the view.

\n

Of course, shopaholics will rejoice at the selection of designer shops and traditional standbys, from high-end heavy hitters, such as Burberry, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Fendi, Michael Kors, Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, and Balenciaga, to more casual labels like Nike, Guess, Lids, and Brighton. Men's styles abound at Tom Ford, John Varvatos, Ralph Lauren, and Canali. Gaze at stunning jewelry, watches, and crystal works at Baccarat, Swarovski, Breitling, Tiffany & Co., Pandora, Hublot, and David Yurman. Apple offers a whole host of electronics. And don't forget to get the perfect keepsake from Field of Dreams. When all this walking/shopping brings on the inevitable hunger, head to The Palm or Carmine's Italian, Water Grill, RPM, or Joe's Seafood, Steak & Stone Crab.

Fran's Chocolates

Fodor's Choice

This Seattle institution (helmed by Fran Bigelow) has been making quality chocolates for decades. Its world-famous salted caramels are transcendent—a much-noted favorite of the Obama family—as are delectable truffles, which are spiked with oolong tea, single-malt whiskey, or raspberry, among other flavors. This shop is housed in the elegant Four Seasons on 1st Avenue.

Frances May

Fodor's Choice

This popular clothing retailer is one of the Pacific Northwest's most defining trendsetters—a favorite of stylish locals who come for that cool, understated look (casual to dressy) that Portlanders are known for. You'll find made-here labels as well as European faves. Frances May also stocks jewelry, art books, housewares, and the city's own OLO Fragrances.

Fred Leighton

Upper East Side Fodor's Choice

If you're in the market for vintage diamonds, this is the place, whether your taste is for tiaras, Art Deco settings, or sparklers once worn by a Vanderbilt or a movie star on a red carpet. Part of the 100-year-old company's own collection, the stackable diamond eternity bands, as rings or as bracelets, are hugely popular. But even just for browsing, the welcoming staff is happy to have guests come see the store's gems, available in glamorous pieces representing every color of the rainbow. In late 2025, Fred Leighton will move to a larger space in the neighborhood, where customers can see the manufacturing process firsthand.

Since the 1960s, it's produced and sold classic Shaker-style maple-wood boxes, but the shop here also sells all sorts of beautiful folk art pieces, from hand-blown glass to finely forged ironware. The shop is officially only open Saturdays as well as Sundays by appointment.

Galleria

Fodor's Choice

Not to be confused with the neighborhood, this is the actual Galleria, the region's anchor shopping complex. It's famous for high-quality stores like Neiman Marcus, Cartier, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Saks Fifth Avenue. But don't be scared off by all these big-ticket names—also here are establishments like Urban Outfitters, Macy's, Banana Republic, and Fox Sports Grill. Kids (and adults) will enjoy the year-round indoor ice rink; during the holidays you can skate around the giant Christmas tree.

Galleria Dallas

North Dallas Fodor's Choice

The Galleria Dallas, with more than 200 retailers and anchor stores Macy's, Nordstrom, and Saks Fifth Avenue, is one of Dallas's best-known malls. Specialty shops include Tiffany & Co., Versace, Lucky Brand Jeans, and Spanish clothier Zara. A soft-structure play area on the third level near Saks (strategically placed near children's specialty shops) is a great place to let little ones (42 inches and shorter) burn off some energy. The bottom level features an ice-skating rink. Just outside the enclosed mall, but still on the Galleria grounds, is the American Girl Boutique and Bistro. Girls and their moms delight in shopping and dining in the cheerfully decorated space dedicated to the American Girl line of dolls and accessories.

Gallery B

Fodor's Choice

The ladies running Gallery B are gregarious and knowledgeable about the work showcased here, including paintings and sculptures by regional and local creatives, so walk in expecting a deluge of inspiration and conversation.
