House of Mana Up

Waikiki Fodor's Choice

The groundbreaking Mana Up organization promotes Hawaii-based entrepreneurs and shares many unique locally made products with consumers. Its retail store in the Royal Hawaiian Center not only showcases innovative, Hawaii-made items but also shares the stories of the makers behind them. It's fun to browse for gourmet chocolate, edible coffee bars, art, sustainable food wrappers, surf-inspired clothing, extra-comfy flip-flops (called slippers in Hawaii), children’s books, and much more. The Locavore Variety Store

Greenwich Village

Bring home a truly local souvenir by heading to this diminutive space where owner Caroline Weaver has curated hundreds of fun, high-quality products made within 100 miles of NYC. All your favorite buzzwords are here: small batch, sustainable, organic, artisanal, etc. Pick up sunscreen made in Rockaway Beach, Queens; fettuccine from the Bronx's "Little Italy"; candles from Brooklyn; and even eat-on-the-spot pickles from the city's oldest pickle purveyor.

The Periwinkle

An eclectic collection of Maine-produced books, puzzles, toys, clothing, and art (such as carved birds and myriad alpaca items) await within the walls of the Periwinkle. Business hours fluctuate, so always call ahead or check the Facebook page for updated hours.

East Austin

It’s not that you’ll find anything out of the ordinary at this east Austin boutique, it’s just that everything you find will be extraordinary. Take the kitchen wares, for instance, like porcelain mugs from Japan beside the shop’s artisanal wooden serving tools. Knickknacks from here in town and across the country, such as wooden toys and mobiles, blend impossibly well with vintage items, almost as though they were curated to live in the gallery-worthy space. The store has a beautiful assortment of hand-pressed cards by local artists if you’d like to write home.

Windswept Goods

Located in the town's historic core, this spacious, hip shop is the kind of thing you'd expect in a much bigger city. There's a little bit of everything here: contemporary clothing and accessories, home decor, gifts, and art.
