Gucci

Meatpacking District

This new two-story, 9,000-square-foot Gucci store has its own unique character, setting it apart from the brand's other locations around the city: the Meatpacking outlet focuses more on accessories and has a pleasing vintage-meets-industrial vibe. You'll find handbags, luggage, and jewelry on the ground floor and men's and women's ready-to-wear couture on the upper floor. Even if you're not ready to whip out your wallet here, the Gucci store is still a spectacle to see with your own eyes.

Gucci

Midtown East

The 46,000-square-foot flagship with floor-to-ceiling glass windows is the largest Gucci store in the world, selling goods for women, men, and kids. The latter is a specialty in this location, which also has store-exclusive goods and a special \"heritage\" department. The clothing is edgy and sexy. Many of the store's accessories, like blingy shades or snakeskin shoes, have Gucci's signature horse-bit detailing.

Gulf Coast Town Center

This retail and dining megacomplex includes a 130,000-square-foot Bass Pro Shops, as well as as a Ron Jon Surf Shop, Target, Costco, Golf Galaxy, and movie theaters.

Gull Rock Pottery

It’s worth the trip down the long dirt drive to Gull Rock Pottery. Sculpture dots serene grounds with a knockout view of Cadillac Mountain across Frenchman Bay. The shop sells the owner's dishware and lamps, with either hand-painted blue and white depictions of local wildlife, flowers, and water scenes, or a rust-color or celadon glaze. The etchings, prints, and jewelry are made by the potter's husband, who also created most of the sculpture outside. Open year-round, but it's by chance or appointment in the off-season.

Gwynn's of Mount Pleasant

Independent department stores have mostly shuttered in the modern era, but Gwynn's has been holding strong since 1967, offering the type of thoughtful service and classy environs that many shoppers no doubt remember from childhood outings to buy Mother's Day gifts. Those still in the market for the same should make a beeline for the rice bead case.

H.N. Williams General Store

Started in 1840 by William Williams, this expansive country store has been run by the same family for six generations. This is one of those places where you can buy maple syrup and ammo, while catching up on posted town announcements. There's a deli on-site for sandwiches; a farmers' market is held outside on Sunday in summer.

Ha Wahine

Here, statement Polynesian prints are incorporated into vibrantly colored blouses, pareos (beach wraps), dresses, and aloha shirts. All clothing is designed and made locally, as is most of the jewelry.

Haberdashery

Country-chic fashion is defined at the Haberdashery, where women with a flair for sassy, unmistakably Western-inspired style will find a treasure trove of clothing.

Habitat

On the same strip as a number of other must-shop stops, small, veteran-owned Habitat specializes in home decor, especially of the ceramic variety (mugs, plant pots, plates, vases, etc). There’s also a wide range of whimsical and botanical prints and tea towels, house plants, mirrors, and pillows—plenty of which are made by local artisans.

Hadley Fruit Orchards

Just off I–10 near the Desert Hills outlet mall, stock up on dried fruit, nuts, candy, and other road-trip treats at what was once a roadside stand owned by the folks who invented trail mix. Although the café serves sandwiches and other quick bites, a must-order is the date shake made with caramel-tasting, California-grown, Deglet Noor dates. (A vegan version is available, too.)

Hagerstown Premium Outlets

open daily, is a bargain hunter's bonanza. The hundreds of stores featuring apparel, footwear, and more include Banana Republic, BCBG, Puma, kate spade, Coach, and Ralph Lauren.

Haiku Marketplace at the Cannery

This assortment of shops (including a small grocery store and a hardware store), service providers, a post office, and various businesses make up the hub of the town. The biggest draws, besides enjoying a nice stroll through the area, are two of the island's most popular restaurants, Colleen's at the Cannery and Nuka.

Haleiwa Store Lots

The most notable tenant here is the legendary Matsumoto's Shave Ice. (You'll know it by the long line of people.) The shiny, open-air complex is also home to the locally operated Whaler's General Store and the casual beach-chic boutique Guava Shop, as well as surf photographer Clark Little's art gallery.

Halelea Gallery

In addition to offering original paintings, scratchboard art, and ceramics by Hawaii artists, this stylish gallery in The Shops at Kukuiula doubles as a boutique that sells a unique sampling of clothing, jewelry, bags, and gifts by local designers with prices that range from good values to splurges.

Halfway Whimsical

This artists' co-op is chock-full of landscape photography, textile art, and handcrafted jewelry. Some of the gallery's more "whimsical" items are clever remixes of household materials—think lamps made of toasters and jewelry made from cutlery.

Halloween

Center City East

If the sheer quantity of baubles crammed into this tiny shop doesn't take your breath away, the gorgeous, one-of-a-kind designs will. The shelves, drawers, displays, and even the second-floor balcony overflow with rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, pins, and much more. The jewelry ranges from classic pearls to mystical amber. Owner Henri David (who designs some pieces) is well known for his lavish and outrageous Halloween fetes. He can do custom work, such as creating mates for single earrings. Proudly old-fashioned, the shop does not have a website, and does not accept credit cards.

Hamlet's Vintage

Greenwich Village

Specializing in vintage clothing from the 1940s to the '90s, this colorful and fun shop is loaded with racks of retro duds that dazzle. Maybe you didn't realize you needed a bright-orange sweater vest from the '70s or a black leather jacket with sleeve fringes from the '80s, but you never know.

Hammock Shops Village

Two dozen boutiques, gift shops, and restaurants, set in cottages built with old beams, timber, and ballast brick, under a canopy of live oaks, make up this charming shopping district. Outside the Original Hammock Shop, in the Hammock Weavers' Pavilion, craftspeople demonstrate the 19th-century art of weaving the famous cotton-rope Pawleys Island hammocks. Also look for jewelry, toys, antiques, and designer fashions.

Hana Ranch Store

Here you can stock up on packaged food items (including some brands that lean a little more gourmet), drinks, personal care items, and some beach necessities. They also have a large selection of liquor and beer.

Hanalei Center

Once an old schoolhouse, the Hanalei Center now houses a bevy of boutiques and restaurants. You can dig through '40s and '50s vintage memorabilia, find Polynesian artifacts, or search for that unusual gift, including fine jewelry and paper-art jewelry. Buy beach gear as well as island wear and women's clothing. A full-service salon and a yoga studio are in the two-story modern addition to the center.
