Kauai Fruit & Flower Company

At this shop near Lihue, five minutes away from the airport, you can buy tropical fruit smoothies, sugarcane, ginger, Kauai Coffee, coconuts, and an assortment of fresh fruits from Kauai, as well as boxes of tropical flowers that can be shipped elsewhere. Note that some of the fruit sold here cannot be shipped out of state.

Kaune's Neighborhood Market

The Plaza

Although Santa Fe has no shortage of gourmet groceries, this neighborhood market near the Capitol building has been stocking its shelves with fine foods since 1896 (its original location was on Washington Street). You'll find specialty and organic goods, many of them local, including fine wines, artisanal cheeses, and chocolates. A short walk from the plaza, it is one of the few places in the neighborhood to also buy basics such as produce, dairy, and bread.

Kohala Grown Market

This popular natural market carries handmade soaps and lotions, clothing, honey, organic groceries, and fresh vegetables. The deli counter offers a wide variety of smoothies and an excellent roast beef sandwich served with chips. Hot foods are available from 1 to 3 pm; eat outside on one of their small tables. There's even Ola Brew beer on tap and Big Island Booch kombuchas available. It's a great alternative if you don't want sit-down dining at the town's only restaurant.

This small market that’s been open since 1938 has a little bit of everything and is a good stop for provisions, drinks, and other goodies before visiting the western or northern part of the island. This multigenerational mom-and-pop store is run by the same family as Molokai Wines and Spirits.

The stand at the most diverse working farm on Molokai is the place to purchase fresh, reasonably priced produce, herbs, and gourmet farm products. Lawai Market

The original Lawai General Store got a facelift and now offers grab-and-go breakfast and lunch, groceries, sundries, a good selection of beer and wine, and a coffee/smoothie bar. At the gateway between the South Shore and the West Side, it's a fine spot to provision for adventures in the mountains or at the shore. Locals and condo renters alike stop by for farm produce, local beef, and house-baked bread, or to refuel with an acai bowl on the porch. Call or check Instagram for Sunday and holiday dinners to go.

In operation since 1906, Los Rios apple farm is home to a fantastic country store where you can buy jams, syrups, and candied apples. Nervous Nellie's Jams and Jellies

Jams and jellies are made right on the property at Nervous Nellie's. There is a tearoom with homemade goodies, and also a fanciful sculpture garden with everything from knights to witches to a lobster and a flamingo. Family-run, this bean-to-bar chocolate shop claims to have the world’s biggest selection of single-origin chocolate, meaning the beans come from one region in the world and aren’t blended. Beans are ground nearby in Old Town to produce more than 20 single-origin bars. Nuance also makes indulgent truffles with local ingredients. You can sit inside or outside at a few tables to sample a flight of chocolate or sip rich hot chocolate.

Oakville Grocery

The Healdsburg branch of this Napa-based store is filled with wine, condiments, and deli items, and sells sandwiches and picnic fixings. A terrace with ample seating makes a good place for an impromptu meal, but you should lunch early or late to avoid the crowds. The Oakville Wine Merchant next door has 40 wines on tap, including many from Sonoma County.
