Carmel Plaza

Tiffany & Co. and Anthropologie are among the name brands doing business at this mall on Carmel's east side, but what makes it worth a stop are homegrown enterprises such as Carmel Honey Company for local honey; Monterey Design Center for home decor; and J. Lawrence Khaki's for debonair menswear. Flying Fish Grill, Alvarado Street Brewery, and several other restaurants are here, along with Wrath, Hahn, and Blair Estate wine tasting rooms. The Carmel Visitor Center (open daily) is on the second floor.

City Creek Center

The centerpiece of a $1 billion downtown redevelopment across from Temple Square, this attractive indoor-outdoor mall with an enclosed footbridge spanning Main Street has brought upscale shopping to the city with stores like Apple, Anthropologie, Louis Vuitton, Lululemon, Nordstrom, Tiffany, and West Elm. And across the street from the east side of the mall, the upscale Harmons Grocery Store is one of the nicest markets in the city. Note that most stores are closed on Sunday. 

Coastal Grand Mall

Central Myrtle Beach

With more than 1 million square feet of retail space, this is the area's most significant indoor mall with department stores—and it's the second largest in the state. The blocks surrounding the mall contain a restaurant district, a movie theater, and tons of specialty shops.

CocoWalk

This three-story, indoor-outdoor mall anchors the Grove's shopping scene, and a recent renovation has given it new life. Once filled with cheesy, touristy kiosks and chain restaurants, it's now home to many local shops and some quality restaurants, like Mister 01 Extraordinary Pizza, PLANTA Queen, and Sushi Garage. On the top floor sits Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas, a multiscreen, state-of-the-art movie theater with a wine bar and lounge and in-seat food service. Overall, the space mixes the bustle of a mall with the breathability of an open-air market.

Coligny Plaza

South End

Things are always humming at this shopping center, which is within walking distance of the most popular public beach on Hilton Head. Coligny Plaza has more than 50 shops and restaurants, including unique clothing boutiques, souvenir shops, and a Piggly Wiggly grocery store. Don't miss Skillets for breakfast, Frozen Moo for ice cream, and Frosty Frog for drinks outdoors.

Copley Place

Back Bay

An indoor shopping mall in the Back Bay, Copley Place includes such high-end shops as Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton. It is anchored by the pricey but dependable Neiman Marcus and offers a few dining options, such as Legal Sea Foods and Caffè Nero.

Cordova Mall

Ten miles north of Pensacola's historic districts, this mall is anchored by department stores Dillard's and Belk. There are also more than 125 specialty shops, including the usual mall suspects like Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works, and a food court.

Cotton Exchange

Downtown

Once the headquarters for the largest cotton exporter in the world, this historic warehouse complex now comprises a dense concentration of locally owned boutiques and restaurants—nearly 30 of them—in a rambling maze of courtyards and hallways. Clothing and footwear, arts and crafts, gourmet food supplies, books, and comics are all here. While you're here, check out the Wilmington Walk of Fame honoring local celebrities like David Brinkley, Michael Jordan, Charlie Daniels, Roman Gabriel, and nearly a dozen more.

Crystal Cove Promenade

This Mediterranean-inspired upscale strip mall offers a mix of well-known storefronts such as Banana Republic and Trader Joe's, plus unique boutiques, Blk Dot Coffee, and popular restaurants including Javier's, Mastro's Ocean Club, and Bear Flag Fish Co. 

Del Mar Plaza

Developed in 1989 by Del Mar residents Ivan Gayler and David Winkler, this plaza is worth a side trip if you're visiting the racetrack. Along with its collection of high-end shops, the tiered plaza contains outstanding restaurants and fountain courtyards with Pacific views. Some businesses validate parking, which is underground.

Destin Commons

This open-air lifestyle center features more than 80 shops and restaurants, an AMC theater, and a pirate-themed playground for kids. You can't miss the mega-size Bass Pro Shops, a two-story extravaganza that includes an aquarium and a massive selection of outdoor gear, from boats to clothes to fishing hooks. Also on-site is Uncle Buck's FishBowl & Grill, an underwater-theme bowling alley and restaurant.

Downtown at The Gardens

This open-air pavilion down the street from The Gardens Mall has boutiques, chain stores, a grocery store, day spas, a 16-screen movie theater, and a lively restaurant and nighttime bar scene that includes the Yard House, which stays open late. A carousel, children's barbershop, boutiques, and Cool Beans (an indoor playground) make this a family-friendly mall.

Florida Mall

With more than 250 stores and 1.7 million square feet of shopping, this mall is large enough to vacation in (even easier since there's a 511-room hotel attached). Its location between the airport and International Drive makes it an easy stop for incoming and departing tourists hunting for a bargain. Exclusive shops include American Girl, the Crayola Experiences, and M&M World. Anchor stores include JC Penney, Dillard's, and Macy's, and dining is equally impressive, with two dozen restaurants and eateries. Stroller and wheelchair rentals are available, as are concierge services and currency exchange.

The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale

Intracoastal and Inland

Fort Lauderdale's most sophisticated mall is just west of the Intracoastal Waterway. The split-level emporium comprises Apple, H&M, Macy's, and dozens of specialty shops. You can chow down at the Capital Grille, P. F. Chang's China Bistro, or Seasons 52—or sip cocktails at Blue Martini. The mall itself is open Monday through Saturday 11–9, Sunday noon–6. The stand-alone restaurants and bars are open later.

Galleria at Sunset

This enclosed mall in northwest Henderson boasts dozens of stores and boutiques, a large food court, sit-down restaurants, such as the Brazilian steak house Rodizio Grill and Gen Korean BBQ House, and seasonal carnivals. There's also a children's play area and a kiddie train to keep the little ones entertained.

The Gateway

This mostly outdoor shopping center next to Vivint Arena amid the warehouses and scads of new condos and apartments on the west side of downtown is steadily undergoing a revitalization, with several new shops and galleries and the popular HallPass food hall having opened in recent years. The complex isn't old—it was built for the 2002 Olympics, but it had struggled for years to retain tenants and has only lately begun to rebound. Plans are still underway to create an ice rink as well as a luxury hotel inside the historic Union Pacific building, which anchors the complex. Popular businesses include Urban Arts Gallery, W.O.S.B. Collective, HEXEH skincare, Momi doughnuts, and a multiplex theater.

Georgetown Park

Georgetown

There's a good mix of retailers at this mall in the center of Georgetown, including Anthropologie & Co. (which has floors devoted to housewares and bridal), H&M, J. Crew, and T.J. Maxx. Stop at the Georgetown Visitor Center inside the main entrance to learn about what's happening in the neighborhood. You can even try your hand at bocce or bowling at Pinstripes, a bistro and entertainment spot with a wonderful patio. Grab macaroons at locally owned Olivia Macaroons.

Grand Bazaar Shops

Center Strip

Built on two acres in front of Horseshoe, Grand Bazaar Shops is dominated by Blake Shelton's massive Ol' Red, the four-story bar, restaurant, and music venue that anchors the corner of the site at the Strip and Flamingo Road. At 27,000 square feet, it has 686 seats for dining. Other options for filling up include Dave's Hot Chicken, Dirt Dog, Fuel Bar (with its flair bartenders), Duck Donuts, Giordano's deep-dish pizza, and Wahlburgers (and now that Mark Wahlberg lives in Las Vegas, expect an occasional sighting). Feed your shopping appetite at The Raider Image, Viva Vegas Gifts, or Rollasole, to give the ol' dogs a break.

Grand Boulevard at Sandestin Town Center

This town center–style shopping and dining complex is on the area's main thoroughfare, just a hop, skip, and jump from the Sandestin Resort. Chicos, J.Jill, Orvis, and Tommy Bahama are among the national brands represented here. Sunset Shoes and The Zoo Gallery are some of the unique local shops worthy of a visit. Dining options include Another Broken Egg Cafe, Vin'tij Food + Wine, and Emeril's Coastal. In addition, the menu at the state-of-the-art Boulevard 10 movie theater gives the phrase "dinner and a show" a whole new meaning.

Nearing a century old, this stunning historic building's glass roof fills its corridors with light on sunny days—and is a welcome escape during a summer thunderstorm. It's home to restaurants, a bookstore with a bar inside, and shops that include a wooden instrument maker and an apothecary.

International Plaza

In addition to a food court and sit-down restaurants, International Plaza has more than 200 stores that include big-name clothing retailers—from Armani Exchange and Burberry to Abercrombie & Fitch—as well as specialty shops selling everything from handbags to jewelry to home decor. Be sure to wander the open-air Bay Street, which has additional boutiques and 16 full-service restaurants and bars.

Ka Makana Alii — The Center for West Oahu

This mall lures patrons with easy access from the H1 freeway, abundant free parking, and several island ware–focused stores, including Noeau, with an array of locally designed, handcrafted items. It also has plenty of familiar chain stores. Several buses run between the Skyline train stop in East Kapolei and Ka Makana Alii.

Kahala Mall

Kahala

This indoor mall has more than 100 stores and restaurants, with a mix of national retailers and not-to-be-missed, homegrown boutiques, clothing stores, and galleries. You can also browse local foods and products at Whole Foods. For post-shopping entertainment, see what movies are playing at the Consolidated Kahala Theatres, where you'll also find a full kitchen and bar.

Kierland Commons

Kihei Kalama Village

Encompassing more than 40 specialty shops and restaurants, this area known as "the Triangle" attracts visitors and locals alike. In addition to the brick-and-mortar establishments, there are shaded outdoor stalls selling everything from printed or hand-painted T-shirts and sundresses to jewelry, pottery, wood carvings, fruit, and gaudily painted coconut husks—some, but not all, made by local craftspeople.

The LINQ Promenade

The focal point of Caesars Entertainment's 300,000-square-foot entertainment district is the High Roller, the world's tallest observation wheel at 550 feet. There's also a zip line (the only one on the Strip, 12 stories up and 1,121 feet long) and, of course, shopping. A boutique specializing in Harley-Davidson merchandise brings the iconic American brand to the Strip. Socks & Bottoms has you covered underneath, The Hat Loft fulfills all your headgear needs, and Pier 30 can keep you in the swim.
