Maine's largest shopping mall (and the second largest in northern New England) is enclosed and has a full stable of the expected national and international retail shops including Pottery Barn, Apple, Banana Republic, H&M, and Sephora. Mixed in, however, are regional and local stores, too. Department stores include Macy's and JC Penney, and the food court offers healthier options like Red Mango and a Mediterranean grill on top of the usual fast food.

The Mini Mall

Williamsburg

Don’t let the word "mall" conjure up images of suburban shopping centers; you won’t find a chain store at this small, long-standing galleria of hip, Brooklyn-minded boutiques that share an indoor concourse. Here you might find souvenirs from fashionable vintage clothing stores, an independent bookstore, a Tibetan paraphernalia vendor, shops selling handmade accessories, jewelry, and bath products, or, for that keepsake that lasts forever, the tattoo parlor.

Miracle Mile Shops

Center Strip

The shops here line an indoor sidewalk built around the circular 7,000-seat Bakkt Theater, where Keith Urban and Gwen Stefani have had residencies. Along the way, you'll find notable and diverse fashion names like Tommy Bahama, Victoria's Secret, H&M, and lululemon. Beauty lovers will enjoy Bath & Body Works, Lush, and Sephora, which are well worth the walk on the cobblestone flooring. Miracle Mile does an admirable job of balancing fashion designer boutiques with modestly priced shops. Many of the stores are at your local mall, but you still may discover a treasure here.

The Shops at Sportsmen's Lodge

The corner of Ventura and Coldwater—the former site of a legendary old Hollywood hangout called Sportsmen's Lodge—is hopping once again with the arrival of this sleek open-air collection of shops, restaurants, and wellness providers. After a stint in the hyperbaric oxygen pod, grab one of those extravagant Erewhon smoothies people are constantly talking about on social media and peruse the racks of athleisure at Vuori, Hoka, FP Movement, and Alo. After attending a Ikebana or fairy terrarium workshop at Rolling Greens nursery, sit under the redwoods (a holdover from the hotel's heyday) or alongside the water feature to enjoy nibbles from L.A. staples like Kismet Rotisserie, Sugarfish, Hi-Ho Burgers, Uovo, or Winston's Pies.
