Although set back from the water on pretty Ecola Creek (just across the street from Les Shirley Park and near the entry road to Ecola State Park) the lodge does have a few rooms with partial ocean views; some units also have gas fireplaces and balconies. This resort offers a little something for everyone: from comfy, clean, economical rooms in the original renovated 1950s hotel to modern two-story condos with expansive ocean views, king-size beds, full kitchens, and outdoor patios. An economical but stylish downtown boutique hotel, the Selina (formerly known as the Commodore) is a favorite with young and artsy souls from Portland and Seattle thanks to its vintage-chic aesthetic, large wall murals and photos, and hip Street 14 Café off the lobby. The three-story building opened as a hotel in the 1920s, but sat vacant for 40 years until a 2009 rehab; If you don't mind sharing a bathroom and don't require too much space, book one of the cozy "cabins," which offer communal bathroom facilities. 

Set on the beach at the quieter southern end of town, the large, rambling Tolovana Inn is one of the best values in this tony seaside community, especially considering that most rooms enjoy partial or full views of the Pacific. The least expensive standard rooms are cozy and don't face the beach, but they can be booked in conjunction with an ocean-view studio to create a large suite, while the largest units, most with balconies and fireplaces, have full kitchens and two bedrooms.
