Most of the 35 upscale, fireplace-warmed rooms at this handsome boutique hotel have a view across the street of Pacific City's beach and Haystack Rock in the distance. You'll also find top amenities in every room (some of which are pet-friendly), a workout facility, a small spa offering massage and body and facial treatments, and the Stimulus Coffee + Bakery, and it's a short walk from a few other restaurants.

Shore pines around this 1987 Scandinavian structure give upper-floor patios a tree-house feel, and it's just half a block from the beach. Filled with light-color woods, beams, and glass, all rooms have decks, some have skylights, and three rooms are designed with families in mind (and have sleeper sofas and kitchenettes). It's hard to beat the low prices or the spirited and welcoming personality of this funky and truly tiny 1950s motel in North Bend whose five rooms have pop culture themes like "That '70s Room" and the "Star Trek: Enterprise Room." For a small fee, the staff will set up an authentically old-school Atari 2600 or a vintage record player in your room, and they also offer free cruiser bikes to use and can arrange mountain-bike tours and other local activities. 

Even if you're not a big fan of gaming, this attractive hotel on the bay and boardwalk in North Bend (a short distance north of downtown Coos Bay) makes a handy, comfortable, and relatively affordable base for exploring this stretch of the coast. The hotel's snazziest rooms are in the newer tower, which has grand views of the bay, but the comfy lodge-style rooms in the older building are brightened by colorful Pendleton blankets and rustic furniture. Included in the property's four dining venues are a waterfront restaurant and a bakery. There's also a full-service RV park and a concert venue that books nationally known bands and comedians.

This floating B&B is in a fully operational stern-wheeler that's permanently moored at the Newport Marina, where guests have front-row seats to all the boating activity around Yaquina Bay, and it's a short walk from Oregon Coast Aquarium. Rooms are cozy and decorated in a simple but stylish nautical theme, and the main salon has hardwood floors, a wood stove, and comfortable furniture. Breakfast is less extensive and there's no afternoon happy hour during the winter months, but the rates drop then too.
