Blue Hill Inn

$$$ | 40 Union St., Blue Hill, ME, 04614, USA

At this Federal-style inn, which was built as a home in 1835 and expanded into a lodging in the 1850s, wide-plank, pumpkin-pine floors perfectly complement the mix of antiques that fill the parlor, library, and guest rooms, several of which have working fireplaces, claw-foot tubs, and flower-garden views. Full breakfasts are offered most of the year while a continental one is served in winter. Fresh baked goodies and cold drinks are offered in the parlor most afternoons.

Pros

  • Plenty of charm
  • Modern suites with kitchens in separate building
  • Excellent service

Cons

  • Narrow stairs
