Thirty-two miles of white-sand beaches lie just south of Mobile, across the bay, at Gulf Shores. Preserves and state parks protect much of the area. On the eastern shore of Mobile Bay in Fairhope and Point Clear, incredible sunsets are not-to-be-missed events, especially over fresh seafood at waterfront restaurants.
