The Best Hotel in Side Trips from Quebec City, Quebec

Background Illustration for Hotels

Reservations at hotels are highly recommended, although off-season it's possible to book a room the same day. B&Bs are the most common lodging options on Île d'Orléans, although there is a handful of inns and one motel. Côte-de-Beaupré, on the other hand, not only has plenty of inns and B&Bs, but several hotels and motels as well.

Given its status as one of Québec's premier summer vacation destinations, the Charlevoix region has lots to offer travelers on almost any budget. Nevertheless, it's wise to book ahead in high season, especially if you're looking for one of the less expensive rooms here, which tend to fill up pretty quickly during the summer months.

Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu

$$$$ | 181 rue Richelieu, La Malbaie, G5A 1X7, Canada

Linked to the Casino de Charlevoix by tunnel, this castle-like building and its sweeping grounds come with stunning views and some great sports and leisure facilities. The restaurants offer a wide range of food, from family fare to haute cuisine. At the after-dinner lounge you can relax and sip a single-malt or vintage port. The full-service spa has 22 treatment rooms, and the links-style golf course overlooks the St. Lawrence. The sports facilities—including two heated pools and a Jacuzzi outside, and a pool, hot tub, and steam bath indoors—are great for all ages.
