Odessa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet
Odessa's oldest theater and among the city's most iconic landmarks, the neo-baroque venue houses a gorgeous rococo hall with four stories of gilded balcony seating along with a spacious orchestra level. Red chairs combine with cream and gilt molding, gorgeous ceiling frescoes, and a large crystal chandelier to give the space an elegant old-fashioned ambiance. Along with operas and ballet performances, there's the occasional orchestral music concert, and tickets can be booked in advance online or over the phone. Note that a dress code is enforced, and travelers wearing shorts or sportswear may be denied admission.
