In the bluish twilight that precedes Svalbard's dark winter nights, blues musicians from all over the world descend on Longyearbyen to play shows at the town's bars and pubs. The festival takes place annually over a weekend in October, coinciding with the Northern Lights Winter.

Initiated in 1998, this long-running annual music festival brings together local and international jazz musicians for a weekend of music and activities in Longyearbyen. Held over the first weekend in February, there are events for all ages, and some even make their way out to the community in Barentsburg.
