2 Best Bars in Alonnisos, The Sporades

This one is a real gem: set on the hillside of Chora, it enjoys stupendous views over the island, without a bad seat in the house. By day it's a café and dessert parlor, serving traditional pastries and local cakes, including its magnificent specialty Alonnisos milk pie. By night, though, it transforms into sultry piano bar, with live music and singing every evening, and good range of cocktails.

This boozy joint in Patitiri has a surf-inspired outfit, and reggae and pop music pump across the harbor from the early evening until 4 am (except for Saturday). Cocktails are large, sugary, and ostentatious. Service is fast and friendly.
