Fodor's Expert Review Chez Thomé

Aix-en-Provence
French
At a crossroads deep in Cézanne country east of Aix, near the Château Noir and in the shadow of Montagne de Ste-Victoire, this ramshackle, fashionably bohemian hunting lodge conceals a series of intimate dining rooms and a broad terrace shaded by massive chestnut trees. Service is young and laid-back, the set menu a steal at €26, and portions are more than generous: lamb roasted in tangy tapenade, zucchini carpaccio with market vegetables and goat-cheese terrine, and crème brûlée perfumed with lavender.
