Douarnenez is a quaint old fishing town with quayside paths and zigzagging narrow streets. Boats come in from the Atlantic to unload their catches of mackerel, sardines, and tuna. Just offshore is the Ile Tristan, which is accessible on foot at low tide (by guided tour only, €5.50), and across the Port-Rhu channel is Tréboul, a seaside resort town favored by French families.
