This peaceful stone farmhouse on nine acres of lovely countryside has beamed ceilings and homey rooms with pine furniture and colorful quilts. The decor in some rooms is tired, but a long-running renovation has so far updated the ground-floor rooms. The B&B is run by a generous and helpful couple, Margaret and Brian, who are always on hand with suggestions of things to do in the area. Breakfasts, taken in the cozy kitchen, include homemade bread and preserves. The house is in the tiny village of Juniper, about five miles south of Hexham.
