Fodor's Expert Review Losehill Hotel and Spa

Edale Rd., Hope, Castleton, Derbyshire, England Fodor's Choice

Originally an Edwardian ramblers’ hostel, this country hotel remains a great place from which to hike in the magnificent surrounding countryside, including to Castleton itself. An Arts and Crafts exterior conceals surprisingly modern, unpretentious, and comfortable rooms. It's the food that is the real star—think creative Modern British dishes based on superlocal produce (with a seven-course tasting menu of highlights available) in on-site Grafene restaurant. Hiking-weary limbs can be soothed in the bijou spa, where you’ll find a small pool and an all-year outdoor hot tub with fabulous views.
