Fodor's Expert Review The Francis Hotel

Queen Sq., Bath, Bath and North East Somerset, BA1 2HH, England

A prime example of Bath's Georgian architecture located right in the heart of town, this building was originally a series of townhouses, but they were converted into a boarding house in 1858, beginning their journey to the luxury hotel you see today. The hotel preserves many of its original Regency features but combines them with 21st-century comforts. The 98 rooms and suites are all thoughtfully designed and have bath and body products from British brand 100 Acres in the en-suite bathrooms. Breakfast is served in the hotel's excellent Boho Marche restaurant, which is also a popular and lively spot for non-residents to come for lunch, dinner, or afternoon tea.
