Crowne Plaza Limassol

$$ | Promachon Eleftherias 2, 4103, Cyprus

Location is the key here—unlike many Limassol hotels, which are actually located north of the city, Crowne Plaza is in the heart of town, offering easy beach and city center access, including proximity to the culturally rich historic districts of Limassol. The Terrace Studios, with spacious private decks and their own sun beds, are particularly nice. Though not as luxurious as some other options here, the hotel doesn't skimp on amenities, from tennis courts to a small spa and 24-hour gym to bathrobes and slippers in the rooms. When you're ready to dine, stroll down the block to some of Limassol's best restaurants, or dine in at the hotel's elegant La Brezza Italian-Cypriot fusion restaurant.

Pros

  • Renovated terrace, spa and indoor pool
  • Good location in the center of town
  • Environmentally conscious practices

Cons

  • Common area and corridors could use an update
  • Hotel beach not as nice as those farther north
  • Family rooms somewhat on the small side

Leonardo Laura Beach and Splash Resort

$$ | Chlorakas Ave., 8104, Cyprus

One of the few hotels in Paphos that looks west onto the sunset, Leonardo Laura is a true family favorite. The main attraction is the Splash waterpark with multi-lane racing slides, a space bowl, white knuckle Boomerango, and a mini splash park for toddlers. However, for those who prefer to keep dry there is an on-site cinema, an escape room and five restaurants to choose from. Renovated a couple of years back, the accommodation feels fresh and modern and is kept very clean; the swim-up suites are fun for a family of four.

Pros

  • Varied dining options
  • Entertainment every night
  • Friendly and accommodating staff

Cons

  • Taxi or bus needed to get to Paphos center
  • Little else around the hotel
