Fodor's Expert Review Grand Hotel Orebić

Kralja Petra Krešimira IV 107, Orebic, Dubrovacko-Neretvanska, 20250, Croatia

Editor's Note: This location is reported to be under new ownership and therefore this review may contain inaccuracies.

Formerly known as the Hotel Rathaneum, this 1970s socialist-era hotel reopened in May 2007 following total renovation. Overlooking the sea and backed by pinewoods, it lies a 10-minute walk along the coastal path from town. The rooms are smartly furnished and have dark blue carpets and beige bedspreads and curtains; most have balconies and a sea view. Sports options include bicycles, canoes, and surfboards for rent. There's a small beach out front.

PROS

  • seafront location with views across channel to Korčula
  • refurbished for 2007 so everything is fairly new

CONS

  • big and impersonal, food rather disappointing, small bathrooms
