Fodor's Choice
With locals and visitors alike enjoying a meal at the large wooden tables, lots of space and antique toys for the kids, and the air scented with smoke from the outdoor firepits where cooks are making homemade čvarci (pork cracklings), the lively terrace at Baranjska Kuća is the best place to soak up the Baranja atmosphere. Considered one of the best restaurants in Slavonia, it is a great place to try typical Slavonian dishes such as čobanac and beans cooked in clay pots, or more unusual dishes such as snails in nettle sauce. Be sure to check out the super interesting and impressive outdoor ethnographic museum in the back; the "Street of Forgotten Times" showcases what traditional life in the area was like with full-sized reconstructions of barber shops, woodworking sheds, and even pubs from times gone by, all using original materials.
