Fodor's Expert Review Blue Haven Resort and Marina

Marina Road, Leeward, Providenciales TKCA 1ZZ, Turks and Caicos Islands See on Map

High on luxury, Blue Haven is the only resort on the far eastern end of the island, overlooking the beauty of au naturel Mangrove Cay and the mega-yachts moored dockside. This 51-suite luxury condo hotel is part of the all new Turks and Caicos Collection, a hotel group that includes the very exclusive Ambergris Cay property, as well as Grace Bay's Alexandra and The Beach House, in addition to Blue Haven. Located directly on Leeward Channel, an active waterway between Provo and the string of little cays to the island’s east, Blue Haven's is uniquely situated in the quiet residential community of Leeward. With a hint of the Dutch Antilles in its exterior ambience, Blue Haven is a full-service, all-inclusive resort: two restaurants on-site, Fire & Ice and the Salt Bar and Grill; The Market, offering groceries and other sundries plus a wonderful little café; Elevate Spa with full spa menu; excursion companies and water-sports operators; two bars; a fitness facility; beach volleyball; conference rooms; and a business center. The freeform infinity pool allows for minimal distinction between the creature comforts of such a refined resort and the wild side of what lies beyond Provo. In addition, Big Blue Unlimited—the island’s premier diving and eco-adventure company is conveniently located adjacent to the resort. All rooms are luxuriously appointed, offering accommodation for parties of one to eight. Blue Haven Resort and Marina is perfect for individuals, couples, or families wishing to stay at a location that offers easy access to all types of water sports—in style.

YOU SHOULD KNOW Blue Haven is part of The Turks and Caicos Collection, whereby three properties on Provo fall under the same all-inclusive umbrella. Guests may enjoy amenities at all resorts.

room

All Blue Haven condos offer luxury linens, a flat-screen tv in each of the bedrooms as well as in the living room that feature international channels, a washer, and dryer with the exception of the studio units, as well as in-house personal safes.

YOU SHOULD KNOW Two roll away beds may be requested for use instead of utilizing the sofa bed option for additional guests per unit.

bathroom

Each unit offers marble bathrooms with shower/tub combination off of each of the bedrooms, while the three bed condos also feature a half bath off of the entry foyer. Studios have showers only. Amenities include a luxury product line for guest use.

lobby

Blue Haven has an expansive lobby, whereby guests are drawn from their point of arrival out to the waterfront with its backdrop of low-lying cays that stretch between the island of Providenciales to the isle of North Caicos beyond. Guests check-in at an intimate desk with personalized service set just to the side.

pool

A large free form pool is set on the waterfront, complete with swim-up bar. From the pool terrace, guests have a view of the cays across the expansive channel, or in contrast, the mega-yachts that stop along their way, moored in the marina just to the north of the resort.

spa

Elevate Spa offers a full range of treatments and services for both men and women on-site at Blue Haven Resort. There are two separate treatment rooms, as well as a mani-pedi room overlooking the marina. This is one of the only spas on the island with two pedi chairs for guests to enjoy their experience together.

YOU SHOULD KNOW Elevate Spa caters to wedding parties, and will arrange hair services for those looking for that something special.

gym

There is a small gym on site with cardio and weight bearing options.

dining

Fire and Ice is the resort's main restaurant, situated overlooking the water and natural beauty of the cays beyond. This beautiful indoor-outdoor restaurant offers Mediterranean cuisine featuring the ocean's bounty from the waters that surround these islands.

The resort's more casual Salt Bar & Grill offers Italian cuisine. Guests may choose to dine indoors, away from the elements, or outside on the wooden verandah, enjoying views of the mega yachts in the Blue Haven Marina.

Jammin’ By the Sea is the resort's third dining option, a beachside grill featuring island fare that is set up for special event evenings.

The Market offers casual sandwiches, baked goods, and a selection of take-out salads, in addition to a fabulous array of coffees and other non-alcoholic beverages on site.

YOU SHOULD KNOW Individuals staying off property may dine at any of the restaurants within The Collection even though all are considered all-inclusive. However, cash is not allowed as form of payment.

drinking

There are several options for guests to enjoy a beverage while on property. The Market has a good selection of beers, wines and some spirits that may be purchased seven days a week to be enjoyed in-room or while on an excursion. Non-alcoholic beverages including hot and iced coffees are also available, in addition to a selection of gourmet teas.

Guests may order from a full range of drinks at the swim-up pool bar during the day, or from the Ice Bar & Fire Lounge throughout the late afternoon and into the evening. There is nothing more lovely than enjoying a star-lit night around one of the fire pits with the sounds of sea breezes whispering through the mangroves across the channel.
