Fodor's Expert Review Le Tamarin
A leisurely lunch here en route to Grande Saline beach is a St. Barth must, but this spot is also tops for dinner or an after-beach snack, too. A beautiful tropical garden with a truly wondrous tamarind tree shades the lounge chairs surrounding the palapa of the restaurant and gives it its name. There is even a lovely small boutique if you want to shop between courses. The lunch menu features sandwiches, sashimi, burgers, and simple grills. Dinner brings heartier plates including duck breast and veal roast. Don't miss the beautifully presented, enormous profiteroles for dessert. The service is attentive and friendly, and the wine list is excellent.
