The kitchen turns out delicious versions of Cuban and Puerto Rican favorites at reasonable prices. Tasty options include Cornish game hen stuffed with congrí, a mixture of black beans and rice; perfectly seasoned and tender beef churrasco; and fried chickpeas with ham and chorizo. The crowd is a pleasant mix of tourists and locals, families and groups of friends enjoying a relaxed evening out. The owners have maximized their residence, which boasts "the friendliest wave on the island," by converting the garage into overflow seating for this garden bistro. With fairy lights, beach chairs, and Latin music, the no-frills setting complements the simple menu of burgers, sandwiches, and signature dips. Creative creations include mango and bacon salad, beer-battered fish tacos, the peanut butter burger (just try it!), and cauliflower buffalo bites. Try the "Tropical Dreamsicle," the restaurant's version of a piña colada. For an interesting keepsake, buy one of the souvenir T-shirts from each of the island's top surf spots. People pack this playful café—where bustling servers wear cheeky "Eat Me!" T-shirts—to enjoy fresh wraps, sandwiches, salads, batidas (fruit smoothies), and coffee. You might not need another meal for the rest of the day if you finish the Drunken Pilot, a breakfast dish with four eggs, spinach, tomato, onion, mushroom, and goat cheese. At lunch, try the popular Surfer, a hot, pressed sandwich with turkey, mozzarella, basil, tomato, and pesto mayo. It's often nearly impossible to find a seat at lunchtime, but don't worry: order takeout, and head to the beach for an alfresco meal. Pinky's also has a branch on Ashford Avenue in Condado.

Portela by Orujo is a singular dining concept by chef Carlos Portela, named the Best Chef in the Caribbean by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association and a 2024 James Beard finalist. Instead of a normal meal, guests are treated to a multicourse tasting menu that varies every night depending on the availability of ingredients, and can be 12 small dishes or more. The experience takes place over several hours, and you're able to walk in the kitchen to see your food being prepared. Wine pairing is available with your meal for an additional cost. Seating is limited with only a handful of tables and demand spanning months in advance. You can make reservations online or call to see if there's any last minute availability.

Pórticos 1606 has a great mix of classic Puerto Rican food and specialty dishes from other Caribbean countries. The staff is friendly and helpful, and their grilled meats are some of the best you can get in the region. It's recommended to get several dishes to share, so everyone gets a taste of their full and impactful menu.
