This waterside sports bar, restaurant, and tiny marina, patronized by the younger set, is one of the most popular places on-island to party, dance, and grab a cold beer, burger, or island snack. It's open from 12 pm until late. It now sports a snazzy humidor with authentic Cuban cigars. Come nightfall Thursday to Saturday, a fabulous local Bimini band plays live music combining pop, Bahamian hits, reggae, and soca. At midnight, a local DJ takes over and spins until 3 am. If you want to book a room in the boutique hotel upstairs be mindful of the loud vibes.

Overlooking Nicholl's Town Beach, Da Big Shop is as local as it gets. The 200-year-old building used to be Andros's only trading post for the sponge harvesters; unfortunately, the building has not aged well, but the interior bar, open daily from noon until late, is a good time. On the weekends it has DJs and on some holidays, a live band. For lunch or dinner, try Da Big Shop's island dinners, sandwiches, burgers, and pastas. It tends to attract local anglers and North Andros’s younger demographic. You might be the only tourists here.

The back door of the small, noisy End of the World Saloon, better known by locals as "Sand Bar," is always open to the harbor. This place—with a sandy floor and visitors' graffiti, business cards, and other surprises on every surface—is a good spot to meet local folks over a beer and a lobster-and-conch pizza, while playing a game of ringtoss. The bar is near the heart of Alice Town, 100 yards from the Compleat Angler ruins, just steps away from Big John's.

The overwater bar at Hank's Place Restaurant and Bar is the place to be on Saturday and some Fridays. Sunset is more of a relaxed scene; but come late night the music gets louder, people get "happier," and the dancing begins! It's also enjoyed by mostly young workers from the nearby AUTEC U.S. Navy base. It's open from 2 pm to 10 pm Tuesday to Friday, and until 3 am on Saturday.
