Come to this beautifully restored shophouse for such well-prepared Malaysian/Chinese fare as udang goreng tauyu lada (sautéed prawns with pepper in sweet soy sauce), ayam panggang Blue Ginger (grilled boneless chicken grilled in spiced coconut milk), and ngo heong (rolls of ground pork and prawns seasoned with five spices). Blue Ginger's specialty dessert, a sweet mixture of red beans, pandan (screw-pine)-flavored jelly, and coconut milk, is finished with puréed durian, perhaps the most polarizing fruit on the planet. You'll either love it or hate it—but you should try it at least once.
