Fodor's Expert Review Eataly

$$$$ Tokyo Lively

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

The Italian luxury supermarket chain that originated in Turin has come to Tokyo with much fanfare. The complex, the first of its kind in Japan, is dedicated to all things Italian, with a dizzying array of pastas, chocolates, cured meats, and other foodstuffs for sale. In addition to shopping, there is a gelato and cake bar with outdoor seating, casual pasta and pizza restaurants open for lunch and dinner, and Guido, an elegant "slow food" dinner restaurant. There are also small branches throughout the city to purchase Italian sliced meats and cheese.
