The Best Hotel in The Silk Road, China

Nestled among quiet rows of a grape vineyard, the Silk Road Lodge is one of the few boutique hotels in all of Xinjiang. Despite traces of shoddy construction, the building is a beautiful homage to Uyghur architecture complete with rooftop terraces and an open courtyard. The English-speaking staff are friendly and the breakfast in the morning is the closest thing you'll find to familiar Western fare in Turpan.
