These are from where my wife is. Very starry as only a few buildings and off the grid. dfrost, beef shin, or shanks, are best braised as the meat is very tough, but it’s delicious and the marrow is wonderful.

These are may apples, one of my favorite edge of the woods plants. We brought a few from our previous home 16 years ago snd they have thrived under a cherry tree. They have a sweet apple scent and they are shy; flowers are held mainly under the leaves so you have to seek them out. We adore them and will miss them more than some of the showier flowers.
