I finally made the eggplant and it was really delicios. I added some tofu for protein, which actually worked. I will consider ground pork the next time. I cut the chile crisp by 2/3 and my wife found it effect. I added more to mine but not the full amount. I’m so glad I used it instead of plain chili oil, so much more complex. This was a great dish. It also had a method I’ve never used before or for that matter seen. The ginger, garlic and scallions are chopped fine and piled on

This was the best shrimp I have ever eaten in my life, perfectly grilled and served with a salsa verde, grilled lemon, wonderful coleslaw. Also in the upper right is rockfish ceviche. My wife had a perfectly cooked grilled swordfish sandwich. Great meal at Mitch’s. Also, though it’s a shack type of place there are real dishes and silverware, which really enhances food. If parking were not such a PIA I’d eat there repeatedly. Great beer menu too but it was a bit early for us.

View from our hotel . We had great breakfast a block away in our beach but not commercial neighborhood. Dinner at Point Loma seafood though recommended by many was disappointing. Both grilled and fried fish were overcooked though both shrimp and crab cakes were pretty good. The market part was gorgeous, huge selection of Fresh and smoked fish . We’ll buy some on our way home.
