Starrs, we just love Commander's Palace, wouldn't consider the trip complete without a meal there.

We also like to spend a few days in the Lafayette area, not sure if you have the time to do that.

Enjoy~ annie

Just got back from NO. Had.two excellent dinners at Bayona's and Jacques-Imo's (the bar next door had a great band, as did the Spotted Cat).

Have lunch on Friday at Commander's Palace for their $20/special and get 25 cent martini's. Ridge the street car to Napoleon and walk 2 blocks to Commander's. After lunch walk 3 blocks to Magazine and stroll the 3,000 to 5,000 block on Magazine and browse the neat shops and stores. When you tire walk back to St. Charles and have a drink at Column's Hotel on the front porch and watch the SC traffic go by.

Take time to visit the WWII DDay Museum in the CBD. You can have lunch there at American Sector. Camelia Grill has a place in the FQ now on Chartres.

Commander's Palace @ 1403 Washington Ave., New Orleans, LA. 504 - 899 - 8221.

The Columns Hotel @ 3811 Saint Charles Ave., New Orleans, LA 504 - 899 - 9308.

American Sector @ 945 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 504 - 528 - 1940.

Bayona was next door, but didn't get there.
Ditto for Camellia Grill. Gotta go back, I guess

bardo, you were right about the po' boys at Cooter Brown's. They were the best of the trip. Thanks for the tip.

We went to Cooter Brown's too! DH had 2 dozen raw oysters with an Abita beer, DS#1 had meat pies with a Barqs, and DS#2 had fried shrimp with a Barqs. I had wine!

In my brother's younger days - he lived in an apartment just above Cooters. Those were interesting times!

Acme Oyster is the way to start your stay! I also have to have oyster and artichoke soup at least once when I am in town. Love
Commander's Palace, too.

I like to get a muffeletta at Central Grocery and keep it in the fridge to eat for breakfast!

Love the Crawtator spicy chips.

Love Magazine St.

Love going for a run in Audubon Park and seeing all the egrets on the little island in the middle of the pond.

Love chatting with locals- so different from the uptight people where I live.

Love the yat accent.

Love all the interesting cajun and smoked meat products at grocery stores.
