Yosemite places to stay overnight

We hope to go to Yosemite next summer, and would like some recommendations about where to stay and how far in advance to make a reservation. Also, any suggestions about how long to stay there would also be great.

It is not too soon to make reservations. You can make reservations 366 days in advance.

What sort of accomodations? How long are you staying? How many people? Camping, tented camp, motel room, hotel room? What is your budget?

You are going to find they are quite expensive. There is plenty of accomodation outside Yosemite, but unless you have a large party and are planning to cook many meals, you will likely find staying in the park to be more convenient.

I hope you were not planning on visiting on Memorial Day weekend (last weekend in May) or over July 4th Holiday weekend. The park will be absolutley jam packed and the best places are already booked for 2011. Try to avoid weekends and you will have more choices in booking.

I like to stay at Yosemite Lodge. It's mid-range accommodations right in the park. A notch below the Ahwahnee lodge, and two notches above the tents and tent cabins of Curry village. You get a clean, comfortable, albeit basic hotel room - don't expect lots of amenities, but the location can't be beat

We stayed at Yosemite Lodge also and loved it. The location is great, the rooms very clean and the price is not bad.

Perfer tge Lodge to the Ahwahnee. Better price and felt the rooms were just as good. The Ahwahnee has the better setting.
