Yosemite 41 and 140 from SFO

So many times I post on all things not directions. Today, we are seeking advice for driving into Yosemite from SFO.

I reading threads about from LA to Yosemite. We cannot make time to be at caravan over 140. Map software online sites doesn't exclude 140 route. Cannot change onto 41.

Thanking you now for your advices.

From SFO you should drive to Yosemite Valley via 120 Big Oak Flat entrance.

Even if 140 were open, I would still advise you to take 120 from SFO not 140. If you use mapquest.com and put in SFO in the beginning location in the “Place Name” box and “CA” in the “State” box and then in the ending location put “Yosemite National Park” in the “City’ box and “CA” in the “State” box you will get just the exact directions that you need. It will show that you need to take 120. Any reference to 140 in these directions concerns the roads strictly inside the park and will not be anywhere near the rock slide west of El Portal.

I too would take 120 from SFO even if 140 was open. 120 is practically a straight shot west to east without much in the way of north/south travel. To get to Hwy 140, you would have to travel south aways. To get to 41, you would have to travel even further south.
