Yellowstone trip lodging help
We decided last minute to do a trip to Yellowstone after labor day weekend
Cannot find lot of lodging options in the park. Nothing is available. We are a family of 5.
Looking at the park map and reading 4-5 day itineraries.
I was thinking, first night we stay somewhere in Cooke city/ Silver Gate
Morning visit Lamar Valley, Mammoth hot springs and go to West side and stay somewhere near west entrance
Next day do Norris Geyser, Upper Geyser and Old Faithful
Another day in Old Faithful . Hayden valley
I cannot find accommodation in the park so we will have to drive back to west entrance
Then 1 or 2 days in Grand Teton before heading back.
Does sound doable or a bad idea ?
I understand that the driving times are longer but with the last minute and 5 people not finding anywhere else to stay.
Any help or ideas are appreciated.
Thanks
