Yellowstone/Grand Tetons/Cody itinerary help

I'm pulling this itinerary for June / July 2020 together quickly, and would love feedback! We'll be leaving from RDU or CLT, traveling with our 2 girls (9 and 10 yo at time of travel) I would appreciate any thoughts you are able to provide. Thanks in advance.

6/25: Fly into Billings, stay overnight somewhere on the way
6/26-27 Mammoth Hot Springs Frontier Cabin
6/28-6/30 Canyon Lodge (is the room with a patio worth the upcharge?)
7/1 Old Faithful Western Cabin (keep an eye out if Frontier Cabin becomes available?)

I'm not locked into the above itinerary, but I have at least reserved the rooms so I know we have lodging. I'd love your thoughts.

Now, what to do with the next 4 days? We fly out on 7/6, probably out of Jackson Hole.

We'd like to spend time at Grand Teton National Park and maybe Cody. Any recommendations on how or if we should split our time between 7/2-7/5, knowing we'll probably need to be flying out of Jackson Hole on 7/6?

Thank you for any thoughts you might have for me.

Bozeman airport is closer to Mammoth Hot Springs than Billings. If you do fly into Billings, you could stay in Red Lodge the first night and drive the Beartooth Hwy into the northeast entrance of Yellowstone the following day. Keep in mind that the Beartooth Pass is at almost 11,000 ft so there's a small chance of closure due to a late season storm which happened last week.

The Cody Stampede is during your time frame (I've been to Cody but not the stampede) https://www.codyyellowstone.org/even...cody-stampede/

I would end your trip in Grand Teton if you plan to fly out of Jackson. I've enjoyed my stays at both Signal Mountain and Dornans inside the park. I've also stayed in the town of Jackson which is OK too as a base but prefer staying inside the park.

I would spend those last days in Jackson and/or GTNP.
I'd definitely want to be in Jackson for the 4th of July.

With many of the smaller airports like Billings, Bozeman and Jackson you may find a very large drop fee if you leave the car anywhere other than where you rented it. If you ever wanted to visit Glacier NP, this might be the time to do it then return the car where you rented it and fly out from the same airport.
Check for which town has the best fireworks show and then drive back to your initial airport on the 5th.
Jackson has a beautiful park with elk horn arched entries.
