wynn's or venetian? Please help!

Hi, I am at wits end, and I am begging for help. We are going to Vegas on Oct. 26th for 4 nights. I'm taking my husband (surprise birthday) and my two kids (27 & 25), and my sister. We will be staying, girls, and guys, so we will need two rooms. I have stayed at the mgm, luxor, and the Bellagio, and though we loved the Bellagio, the room was starting to show wear and tear. We loved the hotel, but I thought we'd try something new. I want it to be really nice, so if I can get the rooms at around 150 to 200, where do you guys recommend? Or would I be better booking a nice suite at the Mirage or treasure Island. We will have a car, so that isn't a question, but I am going crazy trying to decide. I's appreciate any and all help. Thanks, Karen in Pittsburgh.

I loved the Venetian, and the rooms (all suites) are very large and comfortable.

Both are very nice, really! But I would stay at Wynn, because it's newer and more contemporary. Venetian is in a little bit better location though and you have the canal shops to go through. Is it important to have places to eat that are reasonable? Just asking.

Both are great. Who has the best deal on rooms? You might want to call them direct and see if they have any deals going on.

A friend stayed at the Mirage suites a few months ago and he is totally sold on them. He had a party for his 25th anniversary and it was unbelievable. he was very happy.

The Wynn is by far the best property on the Strip.

Venetian ... Bellagio ... both one step below.

The Wynn is the newer hotel, unless you count the Palazzo at the Venetian. I did a quick check on rates, and it looks like you can get the Venetian for less than $200 a night, but not the Wynn.

My preference would be to get a nice suite at the Mirage, and two regular rooms for everybody else. Though, maybe your husband would be fine with the girls/guys split on his birthday.

This is a no brainer. I have stayed at both properties and Wynn by far supercedes the Venetian. Besides at the Venetian you have to walk what seems like five miles to get to your elevator. At the Wynn, you do have to walk through the casino as the Venetian but it's much smaller. Trust me, this is a big issue once your there with all those people and hauling all your luggage. The Wynn is like a fresh breath of air. I always wake up early, get a coffee at the shop near the casino and take in the beautiful atmosphere. Besides, the Venetian has a Panda Express inside of it, how "five star" is that?

Another vote for The Wynn.

I think the Bellagio has really fallen off in the past several years and don't think it is on the same level with the Venetian.

WYNN is AWESOME! Little more pricey than the Venetian but well worth the extra cash! By far the best hotel on the strip!

Wynn by FAR!!! Venetian rooms were dated. It's like comparing 3 star to 5 star.

I've stayed at Bellagio, then Venetian, then Wynn - and Wynn is my favorite for all the reasons listed above in other posts. I'd even take Bellagio over Venetian. Call me a Princess, but I didn't care for Venetian at all. Could've just been my room, but I felt Venetian was a step down from Bellagio. Either way, Wynn is a win-win!

I loved the Venetian...the suite rooms are so roomy, clean and nice. The lobby is perfection, the casino so great and the dining options endless. Obviously either hotel will be an amazing experience, but Venetian was just so good in my opinion.

We just stayed at The Venetian for $139 a night and our suite had been recently remodeled. It was beautiful. Although we didn't watch TV, there were 3 flat screen TV'S, new furniture, a remote to open and close the black out drapes and I love the separate stall shower and marble in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and there was no noise in the hallway so we both slept well. We've never stayed at Bellagio or Wynn.

So happy to hear all the good reviews of Wynn.

Four of us (two couples) have booked, get this, seven nights at Wynn Nov. 1 - 8 (the SEMA show dates). We booked through Expedia probably 6 months ago and our rates varied over the 7 nights from $279 for Sat. night, $215 for Sun. and Mon., $279 for Tues., Wed., Thurs., and ... yikes ...$360 for Fri.

Anyway, the paying is all done (Expedia takes your money right away) ... so now we just get to look forward to our stay.

The four of us have stayed at many different hotels in Las Vegas (always at the same time of year (SEMA show time) ... several times at the MGM, Luxor a couple of times, Mirage once, TI twice, Bally's once, and Bellagio once.

As always, I'm hoping for good pool weather ... anyone have any comments on the pools at Wynn?

Anyone have a favourite restaurant in the hotel?

Thanks in advance.

Sunshine, if you don't mind my asking, how did you get a suite for $139? Did you go through the hotel website, wait until the last minute, or what? We are trying to book for November and are getting $200+ quotes.

wynn or palazzo would be a more equal comparison than Wynn or Venetian --
