Wine Country Experts
I am thinking of doing a spur of the moment weekend wine country getaway. Maybe for two. Looking for comfort, quiet, serene & romantic. Moderate to mid luxury. What area of wine country would you go? What place would you stay? Where would you eat? Any suggestions is helpful. Thanks.

Search the web for Oregon wine country. The McMinneville area has a ton of wineries, stay at Hotel Oregon. Also, the Columbia River Gorge would be beautiful this time of year and there is plenty of wine to drink. You could stay in Hood River, OR or at Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, WA. The McMinneville & the Gorge are less than an hour from Portland.

I presume you are thinking about Napa or Sonoma Counties? I suggest Healdsburg. I'm sure if you search in these postings you will come up with plenty of information about Hbg. There are lots of restaurants in every price range, accommodations from B&B's to Luxury Hotels, and even Motels in Hbg. You might have to be more specific if you want more precise information

In Healdsburg, the Hotel Healdsburg is very nice, Cyrus is in Healdsburg, one of the most wonderful restaurants in the wine country.
We have been picking Pinot Noir grapes this week in the Dundee and North Plains wine country, making our own Pinot Noir will be challenging and fun, everyone we have worked with has been very helpful with our project! ***kim***
