Williamsburg, VA Hotel Help
Myself, husband, and two fourteen year olds are going to Williamsburg this July. We will need two adjoining rooms at a reasonably priced hotel where we can walk (blocks, not miles) to the historic area. Besides the Woodlands and Lodge, any current recommendations? Has anyone stayed at the Governor's Inn? Best Western Patrick Henry? If so, what is your description and experience?

Not sure if the others are walking distance to the historic district or not.
We stayed at the Lodge and really enjoyed it. Our room was clean and spacious and had attractive, reproduction furniture in it. Our package (booked through history.org) included passes to Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. It also included a delicious hot (not continental) buffet breakfast at the Lodge (worth at least 12-15 per person). We also enjoyed use of the health club facilities at the Lodge. They have a fitness center with a pool and spa services. I would think with teenagers, you could definitely take advantage of the health club. Enjoy!

We stayed at the Governor's Inn last time and found it to be a very nice, clean and well-run place (it was formerly a Sheraton). It serves a continental breakfast and has a nice pool and a gift shop. It's only a 3-block walk from Merchants Square. Also as a guest of Governor's Inn you're able to use the outdoor facilities at the Woodlands (mini golf, etc.).
About the BW Patrick Henry, I had just read a post on another travel site about someone who recently stayed there, and complained about the place being run down and shabby; needs a major renovation.

There's another hotel within easy walking distance, the Hospitality House. Never stayed there, but it looks nice.
How far will you walk? I stayed at a Super8 (1220 Richmond Rd ??) about a mile away and walked. There's a Holiday Inn on Capital Landing Road w/ free shuttle w/in 10 minutes driving distance. Sheraton 4 points is adjacent to PH BW that you wrote of. No x in my e-ddress.
