Wilderness cabin vs homes???

Hi, has anyone stayed at the wilderness cabins or homes? Does any one know the difference, I think one is a log-cabin and the other is a mobile home? But what is the difference in the interior layout of the room? Which would accomidate 3 adults, a 15yr old, an 11yr old, a 7yr old and a 13month old baby, in July 2000? which would be cheaper? How is the surrounding area? Is it nice and clean? Any comments or tips would be great. Thanks Abby.

Hi. I've stayed in the wilderness homes and loved it. I don't think they have 2 different models, but I may be wrong. Call 1-407-w-disney and they'll be able to let you know. They're like mobile homes. They are located in Fort Wilderness which is the campground at Disney. They were clean and came with dishes and silverware in the full kitchen complete with a table and 4 or 6 chairs..I forget now. The bedroom had a queen bed and a bunk bed. The living room had a murphy bed. I'm not sure if the living room couch converted to a bed. We are a family of four and found it comfortable. Each unit has it's own wooden deck with a picnic table and BBQ grill. There are pools nearby, and bus transportation to and from the parks. There's a petting zoo and pony rides for the little ones and each night they have a movie and a campfire sing along at the main meeting area. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me directly.

i've stayed at both the wilderness cabins and homes! as you probably have noticed- the homes are a bit cheaper than the cabins- the cabins are newer(i was at fort wilderness 2yrs ago exactly and they had just premiered them) the cabin is a cute little log home with a room with a big bed and bunk set and also a double murphy bed in the living area- which really isn't that ample. if you want to stay in the resort area(to enjoy everyday at disney using their bus and boat system) this is your best bet-especially with your party. you may want to get two cabins- to fit all your party. overall, the fort wilderness resort is obviously wilderness themed, so it is nice and clean but still in the middle of nowhere. well, in the middle of a disney resort. sorry if this is messy- but just a few thoughts.

Stayed in the cabins (3 adults, 3 kids) last spring. Cabins are newer. Basically same layout. Good value (full kitchen saves $) and ample room for family of 4. Need a car for quick access to most parks/attractions. Quiet and relaxing place to ease up after daily Disney madness. Lots of things to do in Fort Wilderness area. Well equipped and maintained with usual WDW quality. Your group might push the limits of a single unit.Best place for families looking to save some $ and stay in one room/unit.
