Hi, Celeste,I have no idea about the Producers(although having it, I cannot imagine who would replace them) but we saw Noises Off this past weekend..it was sooo good!! Patti Lupone was out, the understudy did so well, I can't think of how it could have been done better...In the reviews, one of the critics in the Times said that he laughed so much he was embarrassed,it is true, I have never laughed so much watching a play...do try to get tickets and see it also~C

Celeste,
I saw your post just before we left for NYC to see the Producers. I have never told anyone to do this before but I feel compelled to do so after seeing this play...
Do yourself a HUGE favor and go see this play! I have seen many plays and nothing compares to the great time we had last night!!! This is by far the best play my husband and I have ever seen!!!!! We laughed ourselves silly. Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick were both wonderful (although I kept finding myself thinking that Matthew was playing the same character he did in How to Succeed in Business which became a little annoying but I'll forgive him). The Actor who plays Carmen Ghia is fabulous as is the actor who plays Roger De Bris. Heck, the whole play is just wonderfully cast. I can't imagine anyone not liking it nor can I image seeing any of their understudies. I'm sure they're wonderful actors but I have to say that I would have been disappointed not to see the 2 headliners anyway. Take my advice, it's money very well spent to see the original cast!!! There's a reason this show won the most Tony's ever!!!!

Helen, please forgive Celeste. She obviously didn't realize that travel doesn't include having fun, so we should definitely ban all posts about entertainment, museums, tours, restaurants, or anything else having to do with fun. If going to New York isn't about seeing Broadway plays and this forum doesn't allow us to comment on those plays, then what the heck is this forum for???? I guess if you live in New York then this post wouldn't have anything to do with travel. But since several of us posting here actually do live outside New York, then this seems to me a valid post for a travel forum.

Helen-does this mean that one would not ask about the casinos in Las Vegas? Disney attractions in Florida? these are after all entertainment and not flight info, hotel reservation info, statistics on how many people get food poisoning on vacation...
Where would you suggest Celeste post this question? If she were asking about plays and their casts on the European forum, people from all over would be giving her helpful answers, why are you making this board different?
