I understand that people in Rhode Island have a lot of time on their hands so don't need to add thyme to their chowder! Flour is the heathens additive to chowder! Tomatoes make it Manhattan, which should be called clam soup as it certainly is not chowder.

sf7307...I have to disagree as I'm not partial to the vinegar based sauces. I prefer a slightly spicy hickory smoked sauce!

But I've never had lobster BBQ!!!

Grilling lobster is wonderful. I par boil them, as I still can't kill them with a knife. Grilling all comes down to the charcoal/wood and the herb butter you baste it with. It is the closest you will come to the woodiness of a true new england lobster clam bake which is to New England what a imu pig is to Hawaii.

lookin...I'm all for grilling things and I'm sure the lobster is wonderful like that. But I'm talking about chopped BBQ like on a bun!
