That is the best time to go if you are looking for an exciting trip. Early summer and late spring are best because water is at a higher level than late summer/early fall.

That's part of the fun. You'll be too engaged to worry about it during the ride.
However, you'll be cold afterwards so you'll want to bring some warm clothes to change into post-rafting.
Whitwater rafting is so fun; don't let the chilly water deter you. The experience and beauty of the surroundings will far outway the possible short-term discomfort that occurs before you can put on warm, dry clothes.
