Which theme park in So Cal to visit?

We are going to Anaheim next summer and have time for one theme park. Mom and 16 year old daughter, love rides, hate to wait. We've been to Orlando, if that helps at all. Are our choices Disneyland, Ca Adventure, Knotts, Universal and Soak City?

I personally like Disneyland the best, and now they have a fast pass on some of the rides so you don't have to wait too long. We weren't allowed to go to Knotts many years ago because of the political thing, but go now, and really like that too. Magic Mountain is another option if you love roller coasters and the hairier kind of rides. Not many rides at Universal. You usually go there to take the tour, but it gets kind of boring after about 4 hours.

Honestly, I would avoid Disney during the Summer. It is horribly packed 7 days/week. I think if you love rides, and have a 16 year old daughter, I would drive the hour to Magic Mountain.

Given the age of your daughter, I'd agree with the Six Flags Magic Mountain advice. Then again, if you have a local Six Flags park or have been to one then it might be old hat to you. If not, SFMM is much more attuned to the teenage set, scarier and much bigger roller coasters, etc. DL is more for younger kids.

I concur with the above poster. A 16 year old will prefer Six Flags. But is there another teenager she can go with?

Disney has about 5 rides, at bets, a teenager will be thrilled with.

Of course, you will not escape lines at Six Flags.

You will definitely not escape the crowds at six flags. It can also be very hot there! But when I went when I was a teenager, I didn't mind...always thought it was fun. Plus they had the misters that kept us somewhat cool in line.
