Which month (best weather) should you travel to Hawaii to enjoy their beaches?

I'm thinking of booking my first vacation to Hawaii and have no idea when is the best time is to travel to Kauai/Maui. I know the weather is probably beautiful year-round, but what are their peak seasons when the weather is at its best and the beaches are calm at Kauai (Popui area).

I usually plan vacations in the spring/summer months, but I want to make sure I don't get into any rainy season.

Thanks for your help!

Cat,
The ol' rule of thumb on Kauai:
Summer in Princeville, winter in Poipu.

I guess in-between you're on your own?

"Hurricane season" is usually late summer/early fall. (knock on wood)

We like to go during the winter since it's cold, rainy here (No Calif).
Even if it's raining on Kauai in Dec/Jan, it's still 70 degrees +....shorts, t-shirts still.

Here's a good weather web I've found:
www.accuweather.com
Type in "Lihue" and get the history.

Good luck and mucho mahalos,
Kal

Why not check a Fodors publication and check their charts. Or get really wild and access weather on Yahoo ... look at the annual stuff. BTW, I refuse to suggest items for your packing list, so don't ask. Ciao

Have had bad luck in January twice--rain, pants weather. Was even a little chilly in June of 2001 for me.
