Great thread! I am glad to see it revived. Next week I am planning on taking my daughter to the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta (museum and professional puppet shows) and Discovery Place in Charlotte. I think I will enjoy it as much as she will!

Los Angeles has a children's museum, a museum of science and industry, kid's space, tar pits, Bob Baker's Marionettes, etc.

Honolulu has a Children's Discovery Museum, as well. I'm not sure how good it is but I do know their hours are kind of odd so check first before going!
