Which Las Vegas (aka Summerlin) J.W. Marriott tower is best place to stay?
My husband, 2 teens and I will be spending a few days at the Summerlin J.W. Marriott resort next week. Since we'll be spending a lot of time at the resort (pools, restaurants and hopefully a spa visit for me), it would be nice to have a good room in a good location. From different Vegas boards I've picked up varying accounts--some say the Spa Tower is best, others swear that the Palms Tower is.
We've never been there so I have no idea where anything's located or if one tower's been remodeled more recently. Would like to have some idea of what to ask for before we come rolling up the driveway, Griswold style.
Not a big deal, as we'll have fun no matter what, but if anyone has comments or suggestions about the hotel, I'll take them It really does sound like a beautiful place--we're staying the previous night at TheHotel in Mandalay Bay--am thinking one night on the strip with teens will be more than enough but we thought they'd like Mandalay Bay's pool.

Have you checked out tripadvisor.com.. Lots of great commments there, or better yet just call the hotel and ask all your important questions. We stayed there last year for 2nights and LOVED it. Our room was as nice as the one we had at Bellagio and Venetian...what makes JW really GREAT is the property...the pool, lagoons, pool, sitting areas,pool,gardens,pool,spa..Really very relaxing to come back from the Strip and enjoy the rest of the day. We had a really great view of the Strip from our balcony with palm trees framing it. Did I mention the pool? We did not score in the casino though...but would stay offstrip ANYTIME here!

We were in the SPA tower. Our room was just gorgeous!French doors that opened up to a "Juliette" style balcony. No bugs when we were there, so we left it open to hear the palm trees blowing in the wind. Huge bathroom..just like their website showed. We checked in and went right to the pool and basically it was all ours! It was just so nice after the long flight. The rest of the day was spent on the Strip. The next morning we got up, back in the pool for a bit, and then off to Red Rocks Park. Came back, and in the pool again! We did not use the spa, but they were SO nice and let us take a tour. We just did not have enough time! Back to the Strip that night! Love the Strip...check out day and most of the a.m. again was spent at the pool relaxing and walking the grounds. Hated to leave, but Bellagio was calling. Pool there was so crowded compared to JW... Its well worth the drive back & forth..Have lots of fun!
