Which hotels have the best BATHROOMS?
And what makes a great bathroom to you?
For us, it's size, cleanliness, double vanities, separate shower....let's see, anything else?
Oh yes....all must be completely separated from the room itself!
Our vote, Kea Lani Fairmont on Maui.

I have been to many hotels with great bathrooms... most recently the St Regis, New York. Big tub with a plasma TV and remote, great shower with rain showerhead and enough water pressure to make it worthwhile. Separate room with toilet. Double sink, make-up mirror and clean, to boot. Everything was marble.
I am a bath person so I bring my own luxury bath products, and those scrubbing bubble cleaning wipes to make sure it is clean before I use it.
The St Regis was great. I spent a hour each evening watching TV and soaking in a great big tub.
The ONLY minus? No hand held shower head in the tub.
Plus? No jets in the tub! I find them unsanitary.

Had a nice bathroom at the Phonecian Resort in Scottsdale AZ. Huge jacuzzi bath.
Also had a very clean and nice bathroom at the Greenbriar in WV. I know it was clean because I had a stomach bug and spent some time on the floor next to the toilet. It was clean. Thank God!!!

Penthouse Suites at Bellagio-Las Vegas: entire his and hers bathrooms with big tub in the hers and big steam shower in the his, separate closets in each. The bathroom alone is larger than some NYC apartments. The Bellagio Suite bathrooms are very nice also.
The American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin (a AAA 5 Diamond resort) features luxury amenities from the Kohler company, which owns the resort. There are some theme bathrooms, too.

Maybe these sound like little things, but oddly enough I find them harder to get than items like the jacuzzi or double vanities. And I could care less about a TV in the bathroom.
I want:
A)a shower with lots of water pressure that doesn't switch at its own will from hot to cold
B) glass doors or a shower curtain that doesn't drag on the floor of the tub or blow in on you while you're showering
B)a toilet you don't have to flush twice
C)enough light that you can see your face when you shave.
D) enough room to set out my own toiletries, rather than a space fully cluttered with all their idea of what I want.

The Venetian in Vegas gets my vote. Marble bath with double sink vanity, separate room for toilet, separate dressing table with chair and makeup mirror, tub (not jetted), and best of all, separate glass shower with body jets.

I'll second the vote for Kea Lani on Maui. Huge tub and glass shower, great toiletries, and quite spacious. My big thing used to be finding hotels with huge tubs/jacuzzi but we moved and our home now has a great big jacuzzi tub in the master bath so it's not such a issue for me anymore. Oh, but I do love a hotel with nice big towels that are plush (versus scratchy) and you can wrap them around you with room to spare!!

I don't go traveling for the bathrooms. Would much rather have a good, clean room with a nice view. The Throne Room just needs to be CLEAN, have a shower with good water pressure, enough room to put my stuff on the countertop and a little room to move around without running into the door everytime you turn around!

The bathroom I had at Michelangelo in NYC had a great saoking tub- deepest one I've had, and it had a handheld shower so I could wash my hair while in the bath. And a small TV in the bathroom, although it was on the counter and no way to see it from the bath- a design defect.
I agree on the Phoenician. Our room there had the largest hotel bathroom I've seen. A good 6 steps across the bathroom from the huge deep tub to the shower. Taupe colored marble on all walls and floor, Double vanities, phone, recessed ceiling lights, and most importantly A SEPARATE TOILET W/A DOOR THAT CLOSES AND SETS IT OFF FROM THE REST OF THE BATHROOM. That part is really key when traveling w/my husband- enough said. A plasma TV is the only thing I can think of that it didn't have. My kids sprawled out and played a game of Monopoly on the floor in the bathroom, which they thought was very cool.
