At this point, i haven't met anyone face to face but after posting several years and emailing privately, i feel i know many of you anyway. Even though my time on line has been limited lately, different things will bring many of you to mind. Anyone remember that L O N G thread, "You know you've been a Fodorite a long time when...."

I haven't met anyone yet... but laurenzo and I are beginning to plan a GTG for the Central California Coast since we just discovered that we're neighbors... thanks to Stacia!
We have a yummy favorite restaurant calle Chef Rick's in Santa Maria ( which is between Paso Robles and Santa Barbara)which is delicious and although he has a great wine list with local wines... I just may be able to pull some strings and have some wine makers present to pour for us! Anyone else interested? You are all most welcome to join us!

Well, if BG and PM are coming through AL, they may as well stop by and pick me up on the way! Or at least have a little rest stop and stretch their legs!
I met a few about a year ago at the Atlanta GTG, but thought byrd was there, so won't venture a guess as to who actually was, except the wonderful iceeu2 ,the orginal icee & starrsville.
Also enjoyed some great wine compliments of our resident fodor's wine maker, Budman!
...and Scarlett, all those hearts somehow make me think of the girls at school running for cheerleader! lol!

purplesage (she only posted for a short time a few yrs ago about a trip to NYC and I was going the same weekend, but it ended up that we were on the same tour of the Lower East Side Tenement Museum and I recogized her husband's shirt advertising where they were from- that was a weird encounter)

I have never met a one. But, my friends and DH know a number of you by name. When I have a great meal I am very likely to say to my DH, "Gee, Tiff and her husband would love this place. I have to tell her about it." Or when I take a great hike "I need to write Enzian about this." Planning my trip to Argentina would have been nowhere near as much fun if I hadn't had the lovely Scarlett to share ideas and plans. It wouldn't have been nearly so easy to plan if I hadn't had the benefit of Giovanna's trip report. Not surprisingly I have developed a sense of friendship which goes well beyond the starting point of a common interest in travel.
Maybe one day soon I will meet a Fodorite. Could be Bayou Gal and Starrsville will meet me for milkshakes at Goobers. Could be kureiff on a hike in Montana. Who knows? Till then.....nice chatting with you!

How could I have missed all the fun on THIS thread?! Aloha one and all! ><
Ok, would someone PLEASE define "met in person"????!!!
BECAUSE I can tell you for sure many of my fine fodors friends are more "in person" to me than, for instance, my next door neighbor! ...whom I love BTW!
ok, I have hugged these fodorites in the last 48 hours...
MelissaHI (on her way to Paris)
Kal (dawg team) & Mrs. Kal (on their way home from Italy)
...BTW, this was mr. mak's 2nd fodors gtg and he LOVED them both!
...these lovely fodorites I have hugged in my dreams many a time...
JJ5 (my SOX & BEARS buddy)
iamq (alias bbq~dawg team)
icee2 (i'2 dawg team)
sistahlou (g dawg team)
auntiemaria
...and this fodorite, I have had the great priviledge and opportunity to work with professionally...
tpatricco
...and these I shared some tasty sangria and tapas with last year in the windy city... missed you JJ5...

LOVED seeing Makai & Mr. Makai again, as well as the Kals. The coach....I ripped the lei off of Makai's neck, plowed over a bunch of kids, made contact with the coach and took a photo. Boy, am I polite company or what?
