Which county has the most lakes in the US?

Otter Tail County in Minnesota. It has over 1100 lakes. None are man-made. All are open for boating and fishing.

I have been there. I think it is true because when you drive down the roads all you see are lakes and boats.

If there is so many lakes why doesn't anybody know about it? Where do the boats come from?

Lake county Florida. There are lakes in between all of the rolling hills. Look at an aerial shot on mapquest and you will see.

I flew over Minnesota (and Canada) and you are right. There was as much water as land. Looked like swiss cheese!

Northern New York State's Adirondacks have several thousand lakes within the park's six million acres. We are on our way up there for a canoe trip today!

Not true... "Northern New York State's Adirondacks have several thousand lakes". Typical New Yorker.

Providing you agree that Boroughs in Alaska are the rough equivalent of counties in the Lower 48 (they are), I'd offer up the North Slope Borough, which holds a sizeable percentage of Alaska's 3+ million lakes. 1100? You can see 1100 of them easily out of the plane window, at least in the summer. Then a few minutes later you'll see 1100 more, then a few minutes later...
